Application to become a Trustee of the Freemasons Charity Yorkshire North & East Ridings Charitable Incorporated Organisation (Registered Charity No. 1170209)
At the First Annual General Meeting of the Freemasons Charity Yorkshire North & East Ridings CIO at The Parsonage Hotel Escrick near York on 12th October 2017, 8 new Trustees to serve for various periods from 1 to 4 years will be elected. These new Trustees will join with the 2 ‘ex officio’ Trustees who are Officers of the Provincial Grand Lodge Yorkshire North and East Ridings, and will therefore become part of the 10 member Board of Trustees that will run the Charity. Soon after election, these Trustees will appoint from within their number, the main officers of the charity, i.e. Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer.
In the future, of the 8 elected Trustees, 2 will stand down each year after serving a 4 year term of office. In order to establish this system, of the 8 Trustees being elected at the first AGM, 2 will serve a one year period, 2 a two year period 2 a three year period, and the remaining 2 a full four year period. All applicants this year must therefore be prepared to serve either a term of 1, 2, 3 or 4 years.
All applicants must have a good knowledge of Freemasonry, preferably within the masonic Province of Yorkshire North & East Ridings, but need not be Freemasons themselves and need not be male. They must have experience in charity work, preferably within the masonic setting, but previous experience as a Trustee of a Registered Charity would be considered an advantage. The CIO does most of its work by electronic communication, so experience with word processing and spreadsheets and access to the internet and a private email address are essential. All Trustees will be expected to attend evry Board meeting, held 4 times a year, and within the Province.
On this occasion we are specifically seeking at least one Trustee with expertise in accountancy, and preferably with experience of acting as a Treasurer for a Registered Charity. We are also seeking at least one Trustee with expertise and experience in legal matters, preferably with specific experience in working with a Registered Charity.

This form must be submitted via the web page, and will automatically be forwarded to the Secretary of the CIO. Postal applications will NOT be accepted. Completed application forms must be submitted by 31st August 2018 at the latest.
